We all have that day when you wake up and tell yourself “Today I am going to become healthier!”. The hardest part about this is knowing where to start. Let us give you a few tips that you can hopefully adapt to your life and start on the path to a healthier you! These steps are not in a necessary order and can be done one step at a time. What matters is positive change in your health, no matter how small.
Lose That Extra Weight
Start by cutting down on snacks or changing your daily walk to a slightly longer one. Take the stairs instead of the elevator! You will certainly feel better and healthier just by dropping some extra weight. On this step, you should try to create a Mantra you recite to yourself. Here’s an example you can try for yourself: “I feel great and I look good!”
Remember those old clothes you had to tuck away in the back of your wardrobe that no longer fit? Well now is your time to unlock that wall and get back into those clothes! It’s as if you got a free shopping spree to reward you of your efforts.
Always focus on setting goals that are both safe and secure so that you can start noticing and liking the new you in the mirror! As an added bonus, you will start noticing compliments that might have been unheard of in the past.
Try to make some time to put some focus on exercise in your daily routine. Walking is something that is becoming obsolete for many cultures. These days we rely purely on some sort of transportation on wheels for our commutes and daily travels. Put a little emphasis in your commute to walk a little more. As mentioned earlier, a simple trip on the staircase vs the elevator ride can really make a difference towards your goal of burning calories! Just for a little simple math example to get the point across more:
48 Work Weeks x 5 Work Days x 5 Building Floors x 40 Steps Per Floor = 48,000 EXTRA STEPS ANNUALLY.
On average, there are 2000 steps in one mile making this an extra 24 miles of walking in your year. One change in daily routine can amount to so much numerically!
Your efforts towards exercising will help you lose weight, increase your energy, and will get the magic chemistry of Endorphins flowing in your brain to produce that ‘Feel Good’ feeling that only your brain can give you.
As busy as our lives are, a little reading and you can be on your way to taking full control of your food intake every day. Few people eat a properly balanced diet. Some counter their unstructured diet with supplements, which we believe are a great temporary alternative but without self-discipline, you will always have someone else deciding the fate of your health.
Hearts Are For More Than Loving
If you had the chance to thank one organ in your body, it should be your heart. It is truly the “muscles” behind your life. You are born with the commitment to take care of your heart so you can ensure it will take care of you through your ups and downs in body and mental health. Take a little time to learn about your heart and how you can keep it beating away without a skip!
Drive Your Energy Up
Find foods that help speed up your metabolism which in return gives you a better energy. Many people run to quick fixes for energy such as coffee and energy drinks but these should only be used in moderation as it is much safer to focus on fruits and vegetables that will help with this process!
Take Some Time For Yourself And Reap The Benefits
Whether male, female or child, it is always good to take a break from daily stresses and experience something different to help you both relax your mind and body. There’s no issues with pampering yourself once in a while. You don’t need to break the bank to experience a relaxing time. A simple book in the park might be what you need. Your body and mind will thank you for doing something for the benefit of it.
The Wonders Of Physical Touch Through A Massage
We have uncovered that pampering yourself isn’t an issue, so why not go get a massage? Aromatherapy can be very beneficial in all ways and it gives you a chance to put everything on pause and drift off into smooth rhythms and ambient lighting. If asking a partner for a massage, you may have to promise one back in return. Return the favor on a different day of your relaxation.
Positive Thoughts Are Your Door To Your Reality
In a society where we are too busy to believe in fairy tales, I could see how something as simple as having positive thoughts for better health might sound silly to you. Now think back to when times have been bad for you and something nice or good happens, isn’t that a great feeling and sigh of relief? Well try it out with every bad thought that runs across your head. Find the positives in everything as there always are. A negative mind creates a negative reality. A simple negative comment can change the mood of an entire group, which shows how strong it can be. There have been cases of positive thinking fixing some bad situations and I ask our audience to try it out themselves without skepticism.
Spend Some Quality Family Time
Whether you have a large family of relatives or a group of friends you consider your family, make sure to put some time on the side for them. We like the saying “A family that plays together, stays together” and we couldn’t emphasize how much true meaning this holds! As we all grow older and split our separate ways, it is our duty to keep connected to those that have an important in our life. If your world is different than that of another that you love or cherish, then bring them into your world and give them the wealth of experience.
Upgrade Your Knowledge
Why ever stop learning? Embrace a child’s approach and keep asking why until you understand what you want. There was never any evidence that curiosity killed the cat, but there is evidence that cat became much more clever. Take that into consideration.
Drink Water, The Fuel To Your Engine
Did you know that your body is just gushing with water? Not only does every part of your body need water to function, but it is the reason our body is able to flush out toxins that affect our health. If you are not consuming enough water in your life, there are many consequences including one that many look past; constipation. Next time you reach for that soda, try a nice bottle of water instead. Nothing but pure fuel unless its soda counter-party which is just a fraction of water.
